CEPIF - Eventscepif Akron Group acquires Eastgate logistics park in KievTuesday, 29 January 2008
CEPIF - EventsAkron Group will take care of another project in Central and Eastern Europe. The company purchased a EUR 40 million investment from the Austrian Developer GLD Invest Group. The new property will be part of Akron Group’s AICEEII fund. The Eastgate logistics park is a newly developed storage and office building covering 40 000 sqm being an important state-of-the-art logistics centre in Kiev. As part of a forward purchase deal, the property was built by the developer GLD Invest Group and was completed for the Akron Group within 15 months. The site is well served by transport facilities and is located to the east of Kiev, near Borispol Airport and just 30 km from the city centre. As well as storage premises, the site also boasts 4 500 sqm of office space. Shortly after construction began, companies such as the German logistics group FIEGE/rewico, Sportmaster and the French company Akron Groupe-Atlantic signed up as long-term tenants.
“By purchasing and developing the logistics park, Akron Group and GLD have been able to position themselves as pioneers of quality on the Ukrainian market. The demand for first-rate logistics premises will continue undiminished for a long time to come. We’re expecting the strong economic growth to persist and therefore see Ukraine as an important core market,” stated J. Christian Thalhammer, CEO of Akron Group.
